The finals of the 2023 CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC), hosted by CapitaLand Group, recently concluded in Singapore. Shanghai Xiba Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Xiba") was ranked among the global top ten for its self-developed product, the "ECH Nano-Crystalline Scale Precipitation Technology." This achievement paves the way for future collaboration with CapitaLand Group, with opportunities to pilot this original technology and promote the innovative solution worldwide.

The competition attracted over 680 submissions from more than 79 countries and regions. After rigorous selection, 10 projects advanced to the finals. Shanghai Xiba's representative garnered significant attention from judges and participants with the "ECH Nano-Crystalline Scale Precipitation Technology" during the finals, leading to preliminary cooperation intentions being discussed and established with several companies on-site.
The "ECH Nano-Crystalline Scale Precipitation Technology" is an innovative green water treatment technology. It utilizes a microcrystalline carrier in circulating cooling water systems that stably releases trace microcrystalline elements. This process effectively mitigates water scaling tendencies and purifies heat transfer surfaces, achieving self-softening and purification of the circulating water quality. It integrates multiple functions including scale inhibition, scale dissolution, corrosion inhibition, and biocidal action, promoting system cleanliness, extending equipment lifespan, and reducing maintenance needs. Even under special operating conditions and without specialized personnel on-site, this technology can maintain the heat exchange efficiency of condensers at set values. It provides a one-stop solution to the three major problems in circulating cooling water systems—corrosion, scaling, and microbial/algal growth—while achieving three "zero-requirement" benefits: simple operation requiring no professional management; streamlined procedures requiring no cleaning or pre-filming; and safe, efficient operation requiring no traditional inspection/control safeguards. This technology has been successfully applied in water treatment system equipment with cooling tower units at civil sites such as commercial buildings, airports, railway stations, and large urban complexes, receiving positive feedback for its high efficiency and stability.
Through 30 years of R&D and innovation, Shanghai Xiba has accumulated profound expertise in the field of water treatment specialty chemicals, including chemical agents, formulations, equipment, and integrated solutions, possessing key core technologies and processes. The company has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Shanghai Municipal Enterprise Technology Center, and a Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise.
