Awarded the Title of Outstanding Enterprise in Shanghai

Recently, the commendation ceremony for the “2021–2022 Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Shanghai” was held. Twenty entrepreneurs received the title of “Outstanding Entrepreneur of Shanghai,” while ten others were granted nomination awards. Among them, two entrepreneurs from Hongkou District, Wang Wei and Ying Zhenkai, were both honored with the title of “Outstanding Entrepreneur of Shanghai (2021–2022).”

The selection activity was launched in May 2023, with applications accepted through self-nomination, organizational recommendation, and expert nomination. The process included preliminary qualification screening, expert review, credit checks, public disclosure, final evaluation by the jury, and approval through special procedures. The aim of this evaluation was to inspire entrepreneurs to fully implement the new development philosophy in the new era, promote high-quality development, contribute to the establishment of a new development paradigm, and vigorously carry forward the entrepreneurial spirit characterized by innovation, boldness, and proactive engagement, thereby making new contributions to Shanghai’s economic and social development.

Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Emperor of Cleaning Hi-Tech Co., LTD

Mr. Wang Wei currently serves as Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Emperor of Cleaning Hi-Tech Co., LTD, which he founded in 1994. Over the past 30 years, the company has adhered to technological innovation as its driving force, treating original technological inventions as a major strategic focus. It has independently developed leading domestic and world-class water treatment technologies, processes, and equipment, securing 50 national invention patents. On June 1, 2017, the company was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 603200).

The company remains customer-oriented, with a governance framework emphasizing the “Three Responsibilities” of Party-building, integrity, and safety, ensuring risk management through systematic processes. Since its founding, the company has had no major safety or environmental incidents. It has also participated in multiple “Belt and Road Initiative” projects, including EPC water treatment projects for Ethiopia’s Mekelle and Jimma industrial parks, the African Union Conference Center, and projects in Saipan, USA, demonstrating significant achievements in international operations. Currently, ECH serves over 3,000 water treatment clients, including more than 128 Fortune Global 500 companies and nearly 400 China Fortune 500 companies. In 2022, the company achieved remarkable year-on-year growth in revenue, profits, and tax contributions, with total revenue reaching 605 million RMB.

Mr. Wang emphasizes advancing both material and cultural progress, integrating Party-building with workforce development. Initiatives such as the “Power of Role Models” and “Rising Stars” programs continuously reinforce value-driven leadership, transforming corporate culture into employee action. The company has established the ECH Training Institute, offering structured training programs for 28 reserve cadres, 53 project managers, and 40 core staff members, thereby cultivating talent pipelines. Additionally, equity incentive schemes for 200 key employees foster a shared-growth model between staff and the enterprise. Each year, the company recruits about 200 new employees, supporting local employment. Since 2010, Mr. Wang has been actively engaged in philanthropic efforts, donating over 10 million RMB to various causes.

In recent years, Hongkou District has strengthened its efforts to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit by improving laws, regulations, and policies conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship; building innovation parks, incubators, and accelerators that provide comprehensive support services; and addressing practical challenges faced by entrepreneurs. These measures have accelerated business growth and enhanced the overall quality of the entrepreneurial workforce through training programs, seminars, and exchange activities.
